Description
Rabeprazole 20 mg Tablet belongs to the class of medicines called proton pump inhibitor. Also called anti-ulcer medicines and is used for the treatment of digestive tract issues such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, Duodenal ulcers, heartburn and esophagitis. Rabeprazole is also useful in treating Zollinger Ellison syndrome and is given along with an antibiotic to treat helicobacter pylori infection.
Rabeprazole tabletsreduce gastric acid secretion through precise inhibition of the enzyme H+/K+-ATPase secreted by parietal cell.
Uses of Rabeprazole tablets
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which backward flow of acid from the stomach causes heartburn and possible injury of the esophagus (Esophagitis)
- Zollinger-Ellison syndrome in adults, a condition in which the stomach produces too much acid
- In combination with other medications to eliminate H. pylori (a bacteria that causes ulcers) in adults.
- To prevent the recurrence of heartburn and duodenal ulcers.
Dosage: One BID in GERD, Peptic ulcer, Heartburns, Reflux esophagitis, NSAID-induced ulcer, Zollinger Ellison syndrome or as prescribed by your doctor
