Indications
Colistimethate Sodium or polymyxin E is a widely used antibiotic used for the treatment of gram-negative bacterial infections like urinary tract, diarrhea and many others. Colistimethate is a surface-active agent which penetrates and disrupts the bacterial cell membrane. Colistimethate is polycationic and has both hydrophobic and lipophilic moieties.
